At Ladaire, we believe everyone has the right to be heard and understood. That’s why last month we were honored to be a proud sponsor for the AIM Fund Charity Gala, raising money for cochlear implants for hearing impaired children in Armenia. The AIM fund held its 20th anniversary gala on April 2, 2023 at Grand Venue in Los Angeles. Proceeds were used to purchase cochlear implants for hearing impaired children. By providing these life-changing implants, families are able to help their deaf children connect with their communities and gain access to education and employment opportunities that would have otherwise been barred from them due to lack of resources. We couldn’t be more proud of the impact we are making on these incredible young lives.
The Armenian International Medical Fund (AIM Fund) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote innovative healthcare programs in Armenia and to set higher standards for the medical community in the region. Since 2004, the organization has provided cochlear implants or BAHA devices to over 180 children and young adults. This has helped to establish Armenia as the regional center for cochlear implants in the Caucasus region, second only to Russia.
The cochlear implant program is essential because it enables children with hearing disabilities to access spoken language, allowing them to communicate and interact with their environments like any other person. According to the World Health Organization, over 466 million people worldwide, including 34 million children, have disabling hearing loss. In Armenia, the number of people affected by hearing loss is considerably high, with an estimated one in ten children being affected. This underscores the need for such an initiative to help alleviate the challenges faced by people with hearing loss.
Ladaire believes in the power of fashion as a force for change, and we are committed to giving back to the community. In line with this, we sponsored the AIM Fund Charity Gala, helping to raise funds to provide cochlear implants for children and young adults in Armenia. We recognize that fashion is more than just looking good, but it’s also an avenue to bring about change and impact lives positively.
